Hodges of Dunn. • Linda Godwin Fetes Patsy Cromartie At Canasta Party Miss Lind's' Godwin was the host ess at a most delightful Dessert Canasta party at her home on the Fayetteville Road last night in hon or of Miss Patsy Cromartie, Sunday bride-elect of Lloyd Coats. The guests who were Invited for 7:30 were served molded ice cream, b idal ribbon cakes, nuts, mints and cof fee when they arrived. Miss Margaret Godwin assisted the hos tess in serving. The three tables of play for the evening were attractively laid for the affair and held as centerpieces hyacinths, tiny snapdragons and fern in crystal frog holders. The place was marked with a white carnation corsage and Miss Godwin presented her with a large silver ash tray. The hostess served cokes and tid bits during play, after scores were compiled Miss Shirley Jane John son was found to be the recipient of high score. She received a bottle of cologne. Second high score; a’ box of bath powder went to Miss Haney Abernathy.' Pink carnations were used in a lovely arrangement oh a side table for the enjoyable occasion. Two bouquets of pink snapdragons were used on the piano and a table in the living room and a lovely bou quet of jonquils and Tern was used as a centerpiece in the dining room. Guests for the party were Miss Cromartie, the honoree, Mrs. R. L. Cromartie, Jr.. Mrs. L. L. Coats, Miss Libby Ray Cromartie. Miss Effie Lou McLean, Miss Emmfi Lou Summerlin, Mias Melrose Tart, Miss Carolyn Westbrook, Miss Reta Fleishman.
