These beautiful people entertained residents of Aery's Rest Home last week with a delicious dinner at Georgia’s Restaurant, 508 Beatties Ford Rd In adddition to the residents, the Sorors also entertained their mothers and they presented beautiful corsages nnH Knntnnnioroc »a oil »r special guests. It was evident by the verbal and facial expressions of the guests that they enjoyed the tasty dinner and the fellowship with the lovely ladies of the sorority. The dinner was just one of the many planned activities for Aery's residents as Alpha Lambda Omega focuses this year’s program on “Help for the Elderly.” Each member of the sorority has committed herself to “personal in volvement - NOW! (PIN) as they work with Mrs. Aery and her staff to render ‘Service to Mankind." STUDENTS IN THE ART DEPARTMENT of West Mecklenburg High School will sponsor a sidewalk art exhibitor) and sale on Friday, The show will be on the sidewalk between the - main building and the cafeteria _ from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 in the afternoon. AMONG OUR PROUDEST CITIZENS is Mrs. Ruth Rainey Lawhorne, a Charlotte native who now makes her home in Norfolk, Va. She is a graduate of York Road High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is presently employed at the Naval Supply Center. Mrs. Rainey Is the president of the Al'i'IAC Toast Mistrest Club. She took top honors in the Blue Ridge Speech Contest in Richmond, Va. recently, the highest level contest to be won by a member of the Attica Club since its inception in 1960. She is now eligible for the Regional Contest which will be held later in the year MRS. VIRGINIA NESBITT was the presiding officer for the Western District meeting of the Court of Calanthe The Spring affair was held at the Masonic Hall in Tryon. Mrs. Annie Mae. Andrews of Charlotte is the Grand Deputy and was in charge of the workshop. Following the meeting, it was announced that the Dahlia Court of Charlotte will be the host for the meeting next year. It will be held on the fourth Saturday in May. MRS. DORfeVMA HAM MONDS OF GRIFFITH ST. was the gracious hostess to a family dinner during the recent family reunion of the Hammond family.
