MARY ARNOLD ..."Miss JCSU Alumnae" United Way Campaign Taps 1973 Goal — I iSMf, ?. no ■; * The 1973 United Way campaign came to a vic torfmis conclusion today with a , record amount of1 $3,001,960.79 collected. That amount is 105 percent of the 1973 goal, and is the first time ever that a United Way campaign topped the three million mark in the Mecklenburg - Union County area. • * . • - The results were announced today at a Victory Luncheon at UCS headquarters in Charlotte. General Chairman, Don Davidson, called on his division chairman for their reports and every division reported achieving at least 100 Dercent of its goal. The President’s Division, with Bob Knight reporting, collected the largest per centage of goal with 111.7 percent reported in, a total of $377,633.20. Leroy Robinson, of the Chairman's Division, announced that his workers have raised $1,238,450.12. His group exceeded its target goal with 106.5 percent collected, • David Rankin, Vice Chairman of the Industrial, Commercial and Public Service Divisions reported to the gathering that his divisions had raised I $785,998.18 for 103.5 percent of goal. Ed Crutchfield’s Public Employees, Special Gifts & Professional and General Enterprises Divisions raised $529,376.29 for 100.3 percent of its projected target. The Residential campaign, with Vice Chairman, Mrs. Mary S. Rogers as its head, collected $70,503.00, which was 100 percent of the desired amount.
