Generally considered the finest basketball season in the storied history of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the campaign has quietly muscled its way on the sports scene. And, during the interim between qow and March, 12 members of this famous conference will attempt to make believers out of the fans and the experts in an con certea ettort 16 Win twill the conference and the" tour nament titles. The jockeying /or the top position begins Friday night with five games. In all, there are 16 contests on the agenda for the next seven days. Only one tilt on Friday’s schedule will* involve the conference standings. That one has Winston-Salem State playing host to Virginia Union in Winston-Salem. The non conference games pit North Carolina A&T against Fayetteville State in Fayet « teville, St. Augustine's against High Point and Shaw against Elon in a big twinbill at Raleigh, and St. Paul’s against Christopher Newport in Newport News, Va.
