Coach Joe Alston should have a large turnout
next Thursday night for the first of two ap
pearances his Golden Bulls will make at the
Charlotte Coliseum this, campaign.
The big doubleheader features the return of
highly-rated Sdhth Carolina State to the J.C. Smith
schedule. Alston’s Bombers will ^ake 'on the
Bulldogs in the nightcap of a twinbill that will
have Winston-Salem State facing St. Paul’s in the
7 o’clock operier.
It is odd that Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali
are both training in the Philadelphia area for their
January 28 bout in New York’s Madison Square
Gardens. The promoters are calling the match
“The Second Fight Of The Century.’’ The winner
will get a crack at George Foreman’s
heavyweight title later in the year.
The Harlem Globetrotters will close their
world’s travelers image this year. It, seems that
the world famous funmakers are going to perform
in only 200 cities in 1973-74.
There are those who, never harbor ill feelings
against individuals who disagree with their views,
although they often regret that so many people
can be so wrong.
The Interreligious Foundation for Coommunity
Organization, better known as IFCO.has a good
thing going. IFCO is promoting a basketball
tournament at City College in New York City
— December 28-30 with Lincoln, Howard and Shaw
Universities, South Carolina State, Norfolk State
and Elizabeth City State Colleges making up the
field.
How Silly Can You Uet Dept. - Dr Frank Ban

Smith’s fine football team 11th among the top 20
Black college football teams in the country.
Livingstone, which finished second in the CIAA,
was listed 14th and S.C. Carolina State, second
i place finishers in the JtpjjgjvjldPAC, was 13th

Dr. Bannister proves that selecting a top 20

going fishing without bait.
Virginia Union against J.C. Smith here
Saturday night and Norfolk State against
Livingstone in Salisbury Monday night are two
basketball games well worth your considerations.

Earl "The Pearl” Monroe has organized the

Bet You Didn’t Know That Johnson C. Smith
topped the CIAA in totaf offense this season?
