The Charlotte Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association will present the Hampton Institute Choir in' concert here Friday night. November 29. ..Tickets for the concert, which will be held at Greater Bethel AME Church, 201 Grandin ltd., may be obtained from local members of the Charlotte Chapter. In 1965 he recieved a Macl.ellan Foundation Fellowship. The Ford Foundation Advanced Study Fellowship was award ed in 1970-71. Carter is also listed in the "World Who’s Who of Musicians.” ..He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, National Assoc iation of Negro Musicians. Music educators National Conference, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Inc. ..Carter, who is an interna tionally known director, has been called by a New York critic a “spirited and dynamic conductor with consummate control over his forces.
