contest, honored and reward
ed its first Annual Mother of
the Year last Sunday night
during a program in the lower
level of the 600-seat-capacity
church at 2722 Bancroft Str
eet.
..Mrs. Thelma Hammer. .
crowned by Mrs. Julia Cure
ton. Chairman of the Budget
Committee, was the first reci
pient of the plaque that will
bear her name and all other
winners in future years.

ber 1st, after running 4 weeks.

Hammer. Mrs. Annie Mae
Hrown. Mr. Lincoln Quick,
and a trio composed of Cyn
thia McCullough. Ardis While,
and Kobin Medley.
Mr. Worth Williams. Mini
ster of Music, accompanied
the musical selections of the
performers and was Masters
of Ceremonies.
Approximately 165 of the
church's :tlK) members were in
attendance at the program
and dinner.

volve attending parties where
alcoholic beverages are ser-_

would like for this to be a safe
holiday season and offers a

the Year at Mother Walls Λ.Μ.Ε. Zion Church
last Sunday night by Mrs. Julia Cureion.
Mother of the Year, Mr*. Thelma Hammer.
