. Happy New Year Beautiful Readers!
..The New. Year around here got off to a real
pendulum type start. There were a number of
parties given to kick off 1975.
. To begin with: Don and Loretta Griffin hosted
a creatively hip function at their smartly fur

While some of the guests
danced in one part of the
house others watched
movies in another part.
No-—Not those kind of
movies! One movie was
about the life of “Aretjia
Franklin,” another was
about “Future Shock,”
four of them were about
“Superman,” and one
on the “Red Balloon.”
The movies oddly
enough proved to be
very interesting. Among
the guests seen having a
swinging time were:

..West Charlotte High School Class of 1957
will hold its regular monthly meeting Sunday,
Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the
conference room of the Metrolina Driving School
office in the Dalebrook Shopping Center on
Beatties Ford Road.
. .The New Year was brought in very merrily at
the Joe Allisons’ on Hidden Forrest Drive in
Hidden Valley last Tuesday night. A group of
their friends gathered to help give the year a
gracious bon voyage. GERALD and SHARON
JOHNSON were seen having a swinging time
along with: BOB and BARNETTA CARTER,
WILLIE WALKER, PHIL BENNETT, and SUE,
CHARLES and VICKIE OWENS, FREDDIE
FORD and his fiancee ERNESTINE, BILL and
EDNA JOHNSON, JERRI WILSON, ROBERT

pearl appliques, a high bodice,
and a hooded cape veil with a

orange carnations.

bride, was maid of honor. She
wore an orange jersey knit
floor length gown with, a jac
ket with an attached hood and
she carried two long-stemmed

English. She is employed with

paper.
The groom is a 1970 grad
uate of E.J. Hayes High
School in Williamston. lie is a
senior at Livingstone College
majoring in physical educa
tion.

Henry (Mup) Ezell and Mrs.
Koxie Ezell were honored as
retirees after Riv ing a total of
195 years of untiring serv ice to
their Church.
The h p.m. retirement cere
mony featured short speeches
from members of the Church
who have seen the work of
these individuals over the
years.
"To Koxie: It’s going to take
a long time and quite a few
adjustments to get used to not
having you around." said
Thomas M. Martin, clerk of
the Church.
Mrs. Ezell, who has served
as the Church secretary since

teacher. She joined First
