To Vice President
Isaiah Tidwell, a native of
Charlotte, has been elected
vice president of Wachovia
. Bank and Trust Company in
Winston-Salem.
Tidwell joined Wachovia's
Charlotte office in 1972 as a
corporate banking trainee.
He became a commençai
loan officer in 1973 and a
corporate loan administration
officer in 1974 when he was
promoted to banking officer.
He was elected assistant vice
president in 197S and transfer
red to Winston-Salem in 1976
as a general loan administra
tion officer, his present posi
tion.
Tidwell graduated from N.
C. Central University in Dur
ham in 1967 with a bachelor's
degree in accounting. He is a
member of Omega Psi Phi
fraternity.
Tidwell is a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William Tidwell.
He and his wife Hellena have
two children, and they make
their home in Winston-Salem.
Garinger Sets
Driver Education
Evening Classes
A preliminary meeting on
evening driver education clas
ses is scheduled November 14,
7 p.m. in the Garinger High
School auditorium.
To be eligible for evening

student must be 16 years of
age on or before June 30,1978,
but not more than 18 years of
age at the time of registration.
Students in junior high school
and private school and per
sons who do not attend school
are eligible for driver educa
tion classes. Senior High stu
dents must take driver educa
tion at their school or have the
approval of their principal and
the driver education special
ist.
Students should bring their
birth certificate and should be
accompanied by at least one
parent. Married students may
be accompanied by either a
parent or spouse and should
bring their marriage license.
Students who wear glasses
should bring them to the meet
ing.
Class schedules will be
made at a later date and will
be based on students' ages,
