The problem stemming from poor drainage will be the main topic for discussion An appa rent neglect on the part of the city has plagued homeowners in a five block radius on the south side of Tuckaseegee for some time. ** When it rains, the water from Tuckaseegee Road drains down side streets, flo oding the roads and yards. This problem is caused by the lack of drains on the streets and piles of excess dirt from past years construction on Freedom Drive. Erosion has come about as a result One homeowner noted that some of his lot has fallen victim to this unwanted erosion. Gene Loss of Carolina Action and others have noticed pipes extending out of the sand piles with what is believed as sewage from the Freedom Drive establish ments draining onto the lots of homeowners. Edith Proctor, homeowner and representative of Carolina Action to City Council, belie ves that the city should try to upgrade the entire are? in stead of building sidewalks and catch basins in certain areas. The city, however, says that there's nothing that they can do about the erosion and flooded back yards because it is on private property. Proctor said "the park ne eds improvements too A more attractive park will make mo thers feel secure about their youngsters playing there. Bro ken down fixtures need to be upgraded." ν The Enderly Park Neigh borhood Organization is one of three neighborhood groups in Charlotte affiliated with Caro lina Action, the statewide citi zens' action organization.
