WBTV To Televise “Frosty The Snowman” Frosty, that “happy, jolly soul” whose old silk hat full of magic has turned him into a musical Christmas legend, de monstrates his unique snow manship in the popular holi day perennial “Frosty the Snowman,” animated musical special, narrated by Jimmy Durante, to be broadcast Sat urday, December 10, at 8:30 p.m. on WBTV, Channel 3. Comedian Jackie Vernon provides the voice for Frosty on the musical Christmas fa ble, originally broadcast on the Network December 7, 1969. The special, based on the popular song of the same title by Jack Rollins and Steve Nelson, about the happy-go lucky snowman with the com ,cob pipe, the button nose and two eyes made out of coal, features Billy DeWolfe as the voice of the villanious Profes sor Hinkle, a magician whose stovepipe topper transforms the lifeless snow figure into an enchanging song-and-dance man. Pursued by the hatless pro fessor and rising temperatu res, Frosty set off for the North Pole to keep from melt ing. En route, the indomitable snowman weathers a whirl of adventures and overcomes the threat of evaporation. BLACK SHEEP SQUADRON Robert Conrad, as World War I air ace “Pappy” Boy ington, returns by popular demand with his motley group of fighter pilots for a second season on Channel Nine Wed nesday, December 14 at 9 p.m. with a new series title, “The Black Sheep Squadron.” r One of the scenes presented in Bennett College’s recent production of the “Living Madonnas” was C’Ambue’s “Madonna of the Angels. Carson, Col. “A Study Of Depression” Is WBTV Special A look at the most wide spread mental-mood disorder in this country, mental depres sion, will be aired Monday, December 12 at 9:30 p.m. on WBTV, Channel 3. Entitled “Through Blues Colored Glas ses," the program’s purpose is to help the ordinary adult learn to understand, to recog nize, and to deal with this inner affliction. Depression is regarded by some as the only truly fatal emotional disorder, because the person’s drive to survive too often gives way to suicidal wishes. “Through Blues Colo ~ ' I red Glasses” approaches the problem in a positive way, pointing out the fact that knowledge, treatment, and un derstanding are now available that didn't exist a short time ago.
