Motown’s Readying New Film For Diana Ross_

TV series for which she re
mains spokesperson.
FCC Commissioner Tyrooe
Brown will address the Black
Citizens for Fair Media at a
meeting on Friday. Oct 20
at the Harlem State Office
Building. Brown, who replac
ed Benamin Hooks on the FCC
will talk about the Van Derlin
Fray bill, commonly known as
the rewrite of the IBM Com
munications Act. Last week,
Brown in an unusually harsh
speech before the Federal
Communications Bar Associa
tion. charged that the FCC has
“abdicated’’ its responsibili
ties, resulting in “a virtual
break down in national com
munications policy.”

black woman running a num
bers racket in Harlem and her
involvment with the ganster
Dutch Schultz. For the unin
formed, this is a true story.
The woman’s name was Mad
ame St. Clari—and she intro
duced the numbers to Harlem.

Flight”, written by Charles
Fuller, author of the play
“The Brownsville Raid”, and
based on a concept by Ms.
LeNoire. It’s a musical bio
graphy of Ethel Waters and
opens Nov. 2 and closes Nov.
