Mrs. King, president of The King Center, said that, “We are delighted that Mrs. Carter will be repre senting the President at our celebration. This will be the second consecutive year that Mrs. Carter has participated in our Janu ary program, a fact which bears witness to the admin istration’s recognition of the importance of the non violent movement led by my husband and the Cen ter’s ongoing work on its behalf.’’ in a related develop ment, Mrs. King said that Mrs. Joan Mondale will also participate in the week-long celebration sponsored by the King Cen ter.
