By Loretta Manago Post Staff Writer For two years, Gene Gil more has been the pastor of Temple Chapel Baptist Church. And this year just like last year the congre gation of Temple Chapel have set their activities in to motion in an effort to ex press their gratitude to him in an annual pastor's appreciation service. Activities will com mence with a musical con cert which will be present ed by the Pastor's Aide Committee. Featured in this concert will be the Steele Creek AME Zion Choir. This program will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 19. Imme diately following the musi cal concert, a womanless wedding which will be performed as a lightheart ed treat is sure to put a smile on everyone's face However, those activités are only considered pre pastor appreciation day programs and the actual program will begin on Sun day, July 20 at 1 p.m. starting with a fellowship dinner which will be held in the F.C. Pinckney fel lowship hall. After the fel lowship dinner the congre gation will listen to an inspiring message given by Dr. Harold S. Diggs, pastor of Mayfield Memorial Bap tist Church at 2:30 p.m. Temple Chapel Baptist Church is located at 900 September Lane and both Rev. Gilmore and the con gregation welcome you to share in this joyous oc casion. Tyrone White at a Pastor's Appreciation ser vice. Mrs. Cureton and Mrs. Means co-chaired the Pastor's appreciation program, the Pastor's Appreciation program. Helen Gerald, chairman of the Banquet, Committee was not pictured. In gratitude for his seven years of service the committee presented him with a check as a token of appreciation from the congregation and Mrs. Rucker gave him a gift. Highlighting activities were four choirs which provided 'musical entertainment. They were the Youth Choir, J. T. White Singers, Walls Memorial Choir and the Spiritual Charlottes. Following the program a banquet was held in the dining area. United Church of Christ's Great Gospel '80 Expo. Listen to the Thompson Gospel and Spiritual Sing ers rejoice as they cele brate their 28th anniver sary through songs. They promise to deliver a foot stomping, hand-clapping good time. Also sharing in their celebration will be the Whispering Spirits Gospel Singers from Baltimore, Mi Mrs. Estelle Thomp son is the founder and pre sident of the Thompson Gospel and Spiritual Sing ers. Rev. Calhoun, who is the pastor extends an open invitation for everyone to attend. PLEASANT HILL The women of Pleasant JJiU^JJagtis^^hurch^wUl^ observe their annual wo men's day activities or Sunday, July 27th. During the morning ser vices the women will be ii charge of the regular ser vice functions. The wo men's choir will perforir the music. At 4 p.m. for the after noon program, Rev. E. R Kirkpatrick will deliver th< message. In charge of th< program, are Mrs. Gloria Smalls who served as chairman and Sarah Crow der and JoEthel Liggett who served as the program chairpersons. Rev.
