Prophets Column God’s Reprobation And Destruction Of Pharoah w hen I tearnea toaay or the death of a college class mate. I was sad 1 knew that my friend died lost. The most awful thing is to die and go out into eternity lost As death finds you. so shall eternity hold you How is it between you and the Lord0 Will you die lost as died my friend? Even though my friend showed much kindness to me near ly twenty years go, I'll have to take the stand at the great white throne judgment and witness against him Your hus band. wife, daughter, the best friend at work, if they don't turn to Christ, you’ll have to witness against them in the great judg ment of Rev 20:11-12. Oh! the sadness of going out into eternity without Christ I thank the Lord for saving me. He could have let me go on just as my friend who showed much kindness to me Instead of him screaming and holler ing in Hell, it could have been J. M. Little. When 1 think about the awfulness of eternity, and what the lost are facing there, I am made to thank the Lord for saving me and it is a great mystery why the Lord would single me out for salvation and pass others by. Do you ever wonder about that? If you are saved you do Then I am made to cry; the greatest thing in all this universe is to know Christ. Our subject at this time is; “God’s Reprobation and Destruction of Pharaoh.’’ Several years ago, after a church service one Sunday night, a woman asked me; “Do you believe God will destory any one?” Well, she just hadn’t read her — Bible. Now you follow me closely as for eternity, for your never dying soul is at stake. I have been called the Hell and damnation preacher. But you just hear thus saith the Lord. Here in the book of Romans (which is called the court room of the Bible) we find some serious words about the old king of Egypt; “For the scripture saith unto Pha raoh, Even for this same purpose have 1 raised thee up, that I (God) might shew, my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth," (Rom 9:17). God raised up the wicked king of Egypt, Pharoah, to re J. M. Kittle rirst in a series probate him and destroy him. Listen again to Apostle Paul in the 18th verse; 'Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and on whom he will hardeneth ’ It was God Almighty who harden ed Pharaoh’s heart. Listen to Verse 21: “Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?” God is the Potter, you and I are the clay. He is SOVEREIGN and can do with you and me as He pleases! Every sinner learns that lesson well under Holy Spirit convic tion long before you ever get saved. You learn from the Holy Spirit that He does not have to save you. I wish our preachers knew that. God does not have to save any sinner! The Lord is not obligated to you in any way. You have no claim on God at all. Pharaoh was a vessel of wrath fitted for destruction. Pharaoh was king over Egypt and had the Hebrew children in slavery. God raised up His servant Moses to lead the people out. The same God who raised up Pharaoh as a vessel of wrath, raised up His servant Moses as a vessel of mercy. Now how does God repro bate a sinner? One of the ways God has to reprobate a sinner is to withdraw all godly influences and godly knowledge trom the sinner. When the Lord's time came for the Hebrew children to be delivered, God sent His servant Moses to Pharaoh; "and after ward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let me people go, that they may hold a feast .unto me in the wilderness.
