The event in question is “Springiest - An Uptown Experience," which is Charlotte’s salute- to spring —A potpourri of music, art, food and fun, “Springfest” will be held in the area of Try on Street to Poplar and 5th to 7th Streets from Fi i day, April 23, through Sunday, April 25th. WBTV’s on-the-air salute will begin with the Friday, April 16th edition of “Those Were The Years" at 11:30 p.m. WHie McKay will present a 50’s “soc hop” as a preview of the WBTV Street Dance which takes place the following Friday. Beginning Monday, April 19, and 1 continuing throughout the week, ’ "This Morning” hosts Jim Patter son and Bob Taylor will feature a series of guests who are connected with “Springfest.” Monday’s guests will be the organizers of “Springfest,” President Koni Kirschman and Vice-President Cyndee Gibson. On Tuesday, Anna Bossier, Visual Arts Chairman, - and one of the artists whose works will be displayed, will talk about their group’s participation. Wed , nesday's guests will be Gretchin Sheets, Chairman of “Spring fest’s” Special Events Committee and representatives of the School <*f Performing Arts and Discovery Place. On Thursday, Marilyn Henson of the “Taste of Char lotte” committee will bring along a chef from one of the restaurants that will have booths at “Spring fest.” And, Friday, Entertainment Chairman Carolyn Branan will present one of the performers for the event. ---- • .
