John Hancock is our

Knowledge, helping

Hancock. She found
strength from the charac

as from the late Martin

There are many paths
Ms. Hancock can take but
her ambition leans toward
one of humanitarianism
-and an attitude that never
fails to aid others.

To Give Up
House Seat?
Special To The Post
The outspoken cham

House of Representatives.
Williams has represent

From the Well of the
House on the last day of the
1984session, Williams said,
“I will not be returning (to
the House)." Williams re
presents that portion of At

County, a poor to middle

By not making his im

known, there was much
room for speculation. Will

would make a decision soon
concerning his political
future. He said, “I've
narrowed it down to three
choices: I’ll either run for
Lt. Governor of Georgia
(that is, if Zell Miller
doesn’t run for re-election),
State Labor Commissioner,
or for the 5th U.S. Con
gressional District Seat
formerly held by Andy

Many political observers
believe Williams will in
deed go for the 5th Dis

rently held by Wyche
Fowler. Williams has put
together a Blue-Ribbon
“Think Tank” advisory
group. He believes that the

only see the beautifully de

the appetizing aroma of the

What guests will probably
not be cognizant of is the
time and dedication it took
to coordinate the fund

There are many local vo

finance, arrangement and
programming. But there
must always be leaders to
pull the event together
North Carolina's co-chair

the North Carolina LDF
since 1979, their main du

for the various programs of
the LDF.
For 43 years LDF at

it’s the only organization of

In addition to court
