John Thomas Anthony .Wins Savings Bond Ruben M. Johnson .Wins scholarship Johnson, Anthony Win Top Awards Ruben Marshall Johnson of Olympic High School and John Thomas Anthony of North Mecklenburg High School were the big win ners in the seventh an nual Beautillion Militaire of Kappa Alpha Pmi Fra ternity. More than 200 witnessed the culmination of six months of activity by the Beaux of 1964. Johnson received a $1,000 scholarship as he was named “Beau of the Year.” Anthony won a $100 Sav ings Bond for having the “Best Talent Presenta tion" in the competition. The young men and the schools they represented were: Qutacey Bullard of West Mecklenburg, Jefferey Caldwell of Myers Park, Derrick Chambers of West Charlotte, James Deese of Garinger, Eric Ellis of Independence, Ter ranee Griggs of West Mecklenburg, James Johnson of West Mecklen burg, Bryon Mackey of Olympic, Hughart Roberts of Garinger and Daniel Robinson of Independence. Dr. Robert Albright was the main speaker for the event. _ The President of Johnson C.
