Prophet’s Column \ “The Lord’s Prayer” i can iook back over many years of my life before God saved me and see the love of God that kept me, even before the day of Effectual Calling. But for His mercy and love I know I’d be in Hell today where l belong. There were ten of us in that graduating class. As far as I know, I am the only one the Lord called and saved. Christ makes the difference. Before the foundation of the world, my heavenly Father chose me in Christ. By nature I’m just like all the rest. Several years ago when I was working at the General Mail Facility a man and I were eating breakfast together and I made this statement to him; “there is only one ^difference between my ipiMure and that of a drunkard in the gutter. ” He looked up at me in silent surprise, and I replied to him : “the only difference between my nature and that of a drunkard in the gutter is the grace of God.” That’s right, J.M. Little is that worm in the dead carcass by nature. But I thank the Lord for having mercy on me. That the Lord should pass by me and fall in love with such a filthy sinner as 1 is beyond all understanding. Salvation in Christ is the greatest thing that can happen to a poor hell deserving sinner in this ' life. I’m glad the Lord saved me. Has He saved you? I praise Him for saving me. I want to call your attention to a truth here in The Lord’s Prayer that you may have overlooked; seven times the Lord refers to “as many as thou hast given him,” or “whom thou hast given me.” He only prayed for this group, it means all the elect of God. The Lord Jesus Christ did not pray for every one. That’s an eye opener to you, isn’t it? If the Lord had prayed for every one, then every one would be saved. Get this; “I Pray for them: I pray not for the world.” (Vs. 9). Personal soul sinners, so-called, and free-will preachers will skip over or try to explain away this Scripture because it does not fit in «th their human methods salvation. Christ prayed J. M. Little only for the elect. If He had prayed for every one then even the SON OF PERDITION, Judas, would have been saved. You can fight against God, against the Holy Sprirt, but you do so to the damnation of your soul. The thing for you to do is just let the Word of God speak to your heart. I have a man here now who is mad with me because I preach repentence. I told him that any man who says repentence is not for us today is a false prophet. That’s right. You can be wrong on some doctrines and be saved, but you cannot be wrong on repentence and be saved. When you get over pouting and decide you want to talk with me again, the message will be the same; repent or burn, turn or perish. As long as you are calling God a liar on repentence you’ll never be saved. If you keep on following that false teaching you too are going to Hell. Before Christ came to the earth, He knew every elect by name He came to die for. The Lord Did not come from Heaven to die and take a chance on your believing on Him. He came to die for you because He knew you could not believe on Him. And left to yourself, you never will believe on Him. An awakened sinner burns his brains out trying to believe, but he finds that he can’t. Have you ever known your hard heart of unbelief? You will before God saves you. Study the whole chapter here in John 17 and see that Christ and Christ alone is your only hope. He is my only hope, I have none other. The Lord’s coming cannot be far off. The world’s scene grows darker and darker every day. Now, some about the prayer in Matthew 6. Over the years it has been mistakenly taught that the prayer in this chapter is THE LORD’S PRAYER. It is not and cannot be, I’ll show you why it cannot be if you have an open mind and heart. Christ said to the disciples; “But thou, when thou prayest, EN TER INTO THY CLOSET, and when thou hast shut thy door, PRAY TO THE FATHER WHICH IS IN SECRET: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” (Mt. 6:6). This prayer is to be prayed secretly. That is the first commandment from the Lord in regards to it It is not to be prayed publicly. You didn’t know that. Look at some words of the prayfer: “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: But if ye ' V ■ «wi station waq< I Steak 1 a Mte angina, tinted glam, power txaMw, « ■ •tearing whate, 4 apaafcar mw, inter mditeM ■ *tp«r,'Meed white latter radiaMkM. white «x*e ■ Wtetete. raar wtpara and weaker. luggage rack ■ and ihudh. much mere mamssmm • forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” The personal forgiveness of sins is asked for in this prayer. Did our I Lord commit any sin? Of course not. He was sinless. He did not need to ask for 11 forgiveness for something! 1 He did not do. So this, j prayer here in Mt. 6 cannot! rightly be called Thejj Lord’s Prayer. It can be;j called the disciples Prayer. ' But it is never to be prayed in public. How ill taught are our leaders and followers of today. It is a tragedy but the religious I world is on the road to Hell \ and doesn’t know it. Our preachers are just blind leaders of the blind.
