Church News Briefs AME Zion Conference f * By Teresa 8imm«u Port Managing Editor The Mth Session of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference of the AME Zion Church is now underway and will end Sunday, July 8. The theme of the Annual Confer ence is "Committed To The Com mission.” The Right Rev. William M. Smith, Senior Bishop of the First Episcopal District, will preside. The Rev. William M. White Sr. is host pastor. _Friday, July 6, will mark Mis sionary Night This "evening session will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Civic Center, 101 S. Col lege Street. Ida M. Smith will preside. Saturday’s session, July 7, will be devoted to conference business and is sehedulsd- to- begin.at.9:30. ajna,. This session will be held at Little Rock AME Zion Church, 501 N._. McDowell Street. On July 8, Sunday, the session will be held in the Charlotte Civic Center. . Sunday School will begin at 9:30 : a.m. and Sunday Morning Worship - services at 11 a.m. The Right Rev. : William M. Smith will deliver the ' morning sermon. The choir from ' Little Rock will provide music. Bishop Smith is also listed in EBONY magazine as one of the 100 most influential black men in Ame rica. He is active in several other civic and spiritual endeavors, but space does not permit listing them all. Rev. William M.
