Prophet’s Column “The Warfare Of The Believer” .. As I view the world situa tions and the total deprav ity of the human heart, 1 see more and more ai my need of Christ And I am made to thank the Lord for saving a sinner like me. In the face of the judgment abd curse that this world is under, I would not want to Kiy Lord. You in’t have any I’t care how you have. It ;r the amount wisdom you it Christ, you are under the judgment of a sin-avenging God and you could plunge into Hell right this instant A lost person is taken up with the things of this world not knowing that a man’s life does not consist of the abundance of the things he possesses. When you die, you will leave all your cherished possessions behind. You unsaved hearts have no hope for eternity. And not knowing Christ you don't want to even talk about your eternal destiny. But go out into eternity you will, and that without Christ What a sad state you are in. If you could just get your eyes open, just a little, as to the judgment about to fall on you, you would fall at the fe?t oi my Lord begging for mercy rinvite you to continue to listen to my late pastor L.ft. Shelton on Sunday mornings with THE VOICE OF TRUTH over WAGI fm 105.3 at 7(30 and over WAGLam 1560at 8:00. As I have said before, if you are saved you can learn how to serve the Lord better, if you are lost you may be awakened to your lost con dition. You need to get concerned about the eter nal welfare of your soul. For you will be here for only a very short time but you will live forever in eternity. I learned just yesterday of the dedth of a certain man. In years gone by he joined with those who made fun of this servant of the Lord. He sided with > J. M. Little First in series those who raised slander campaigns against me. Anyone who wants to get on the bandwagon of slander against me can do so, that is your privilege. But 1 would not havrbeen in-this man's place for 10 million worlds. A bornagain be liever will not fight an other bornagain believer. Now let that soak in. If you are going around scheming against a believer, whe ther it is I or someone else, then that is concrete evi dence you are not saved. You are either for Christ and His Word, and His people or you are not saved. You are either for Christ and His Word, and His people are you are against us. It’s just that simple, there is no neutral ground! Some of you are trying to play neutral ground, neutral ground so-called, will send you straight to Hell. Our subject at this time is: “THE WARFARE OF THE BELIEVER.’’ Every saved person has two natures; tne oia nature which he was born with, and his new nature given him in the New Birth. That is why every believer has a constant battle with his old nature and that explains why there is a constant warfare going on. The old nature is sinful, lov«6 sin, — lives uii siii, diiu nates God. The new-nature is from God above, implanted in the New Birth, loves God and hates sin. If that is not so, nothing I have ever taught is so. But I know it is true because I know the warfare that goes on in my life as a believer every day. Nowehere in the Word of God does God promise to change the old nature. Did you know that? In the seventh chapter of Romans the Apostle Paul spoke about his warfare with the old nature; “Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” (Rom. 7:17-18). The Apostle Paul, having received more revelations from the Lord than any Christian who ever lived, experienced a greater warfare between his new nature and the old nature than any one else. Paul gives his testimony here that there is no good in the flesh. You have heard it taught in^ the-classrooms and from the pulpits all your life; “there is some good in the worst of men “ That is the Devil’s lie. And you are a gullible sucker for believing the Devil’s lie. You will never get saved as long as you think you have some good in you Christ didn’t die for half sinners, He died for whole sinners. As long as you feel you have some good in you, you'll never cry to be clothed with the righteous ness of Christ Our religious folks are always priding themselves on their so-called “goodness' and “gooddeeds.” Not knowing that- you are totally depraved, blinded, and have nothing 4n you- to make you acceptable before a thrice holy God You pat yourself on the back; “ha, ha, I don’t associate with suchgroups* as those folks over there.” God looking down from Heaven sees no difference! While you think you are better than they, the same judgement of God is hanging over your head and you are on the road to the same Hell. To the world, the believer is .a sad and lonely person. An individual said to me in 1972, some months after the Lord saved me; “aren’t you miserable the way you live?” No, I’m one of the happiest men on this earth. But I have many weighty matters on my heart as a result of walking with the Lord. I see the world as it is under the judgement of a sin avenging God. I know what is going to happen to those who die out of Christ. And that is why my heart is heavy.
