TVK98 Las Amigas” Pageant Will Be Held Saturday
The members of Las Amigas, Inc. will sponsor their
annual Little Miss Las Amigas pageant Saturday,
September 22, in Holiday Inn North.
Beginning at 7 p.m., 11 ladies between the ages of six and
12 will compete for the title. Last year’s winner, Dorenda
Johnson, will be present to crown her successor.
Since June, the girls'have been involved in cultural and
social activities. .The contestants and parents have been
acting as assistants, according to Dr. Joyce Waddell, a
member of the social club. * :—
Events leading to the pageant included picnics, visit
ing Discovery Place, group parties at Burger King, roller
skating parties, and charm clinics. Johnsie Young and
Margo Jones are pageant coordinators. This year’s
contestants are Kamilal Gabriel, Kenita Huey, Sonja
Four-year-old Kawana Miller take* a rest while waiting for the bu* with
her mother. The Uttie lady admitted to being tired after a long day.
Kawana and her mom bad juit made some purchases at Park Road
Shopping Center.
