City Manager PUBLIC NOTICE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PREQUALIFICATION OF IN-VESSEL COMPOSTING SYSTEM SUPPLIERS CITY OF CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA The City of Charlotte is considering the con struction of an in-vessel composting facility for its McAlpine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The composting system will be designed to stabilize and condition dewatered residual solids produced by this facility and possibly two other Charlotte Wastewater Treatment Plants. These three facili ties treat wastewater which is primarily of domestic origin. ' The proposed composting facility will be loeated on the site of the existing McAlpine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, immediately adjacent to a new solids dewatering complex. Currently, the City’s proposed implementation schedule calls for the facility to be operational by June, 1987. The Owner of the project is the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department, 5100 Brookshire Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina 28216. The City of Charlotte requests proposals and qualifications slafements from IN-VESSEL COMPOSTING SYSTEM SUPPLIERS who are interested in being considered as viable suppliers of the proposed composting facilities A prequalifica tion package has been prepared by the Engineer, CH2M HILL. The prequalification package pro vides information concerning the project and defines the minimum requirements for submittal of proposals by interested IN-VESSEL COMPOSTING SYSTEM SUPPLIERS. Firms desiring to be considered as suppliers of the proposed composting system for the Charlotte project, must forward four (4) copies of their proposal and qualifications statement, fully com plying with the requirements stated in the pre qualification package, to the attention of Mr J. Based on the results of these evaluations, the most viable supplied s) of the proposed composting system will be selected for further consideration during the detailed design phase of the project. Suppliers proposing composting systems not con sidered viable (acceptable and-or in the best interest of the City of Charlotte) for the McAlpine Creek project, will be eliminated from future consideration.
