Both men's and women's programs are affiliated with NCAA Division l.'The liniversity is a member oi the Sun Belt Conference which is becoming known nationally for its athletic prowess. There are men's teams in basketball cross country, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf and swimming. Women’s teams compete in volleyball, basketball, swimming, softball and tennis There is also a coed rifle team.
