Day Care Planned
Child-care providers, parents, •
legislators, child advocates and
others interested in child day care in
North Carolina will want to make
plans to attend a conference on
day-care issues to be held March
28-30, in Raleigh.
The conference will focus on
“Meeting the Challenge of the ’80s
Child” and will provide a forum for
discussion of day-care issues.
Sessions will be held bn public
education and day care, child abuse
and neglect, cost vs. quality,
national and statewide trends in day
care and working with legislators.
The registration fee of *25 per
person will cover one luncheon,
speakers, breaks and materials.
Participation is on a first-come,
first-served basis. After March 1,
. 1985, the registration fee will be *35
, per person.

Top Scorer
K graduate of the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte was the
top scorer in the state on the
November administration of the
Certified Public Accountant
examination.
James Lawrence Miller topped
1,225 other persons taking the exam.

Health Workshop
The Charlotte YWCA will sponsor
a Holistic Health Workshop at the
Park Road Center m Saturday,

Applications Sought
Applications are now being ac
cepted (or the “All American Calen
dar Girl” Pageant, to be held on
March 10 at the Ramada Inn Down
town 4. There are four female
categories, covering ages 1-30, and a
young male (age M2) category.
Entries may be in any one or all four
of the following events: beauty,
model, talent, or photogenic. The 13
winners (one in each age division)
will have their entry fee paid to the
national pageant, which will be held
in Gettysburg, PA. Local winners
will also receive other exciting gifts.
