Esther Page Hill .UNCC associate professor Esther Page Hi k Recipient Of NAEA Award Of Ekcelence Esther Page Hill, associate pro fessor of visual arts at the Uni versity of North Carolina at Char lotte, is the recipient of the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Student Chapter Sponsor Award of Excellence for 1985. The plaque was presented at the annual NAEA con vention in Dallas during the awards session April 22. The UNCC student chapter of the NAEA nominated professor Hill, their faculty advisor, in December 1984. The nomination was support ed by a book depicting the ac tivities of the chapter over a 10 year period sfnce being chartered in 1974. Dr. Marilyn Newby, chairman of the NAEA Student Chapter Sponsor Award, stated in the award letter that the “book of credentials and information about your many significant activities of the past 10 years is eloquent testimony to the excellence of leadership you have provided for our future art teach ers.” Five student members of the NAEA attended the Dallas con vention and participated in a pre sentation on Saturday, April 20, entitled “Cross-Cultural Arts-Cross Cultural Arts-Mainstream Teach ers.” Students attending were: Pamela Davis of Smyrna, presi dent; Johnnie Jones of Charlotte, vice president; Jacqueline Johnson of Charlotte, secretary ; Tony Ho ward of Davidson, publicity-histo rain; and Denise Humphries of Charlotte, coordinator of special projects.
