ion show will benefit the new Afro
American Cultural Center. .
The fashion show will take place at
the Charlotte Women’s Club and wiU
feature models Minette Trosch,
Linda Albright, Cyndee Patterson,
Jackie Kee and Candi Bond.
, After the fashion show. Viv’s
Boutique, 951 S. Independence
Blvd., will be having its grand open
ing Carrying a selective line of
designer fashions at discounted
prices, Viv’s Boutique will feature
such services as personalized shop
ping, gifts wrapped and delivered,
fashion shows, trunk shows, and
fund raisers.
Dturing the grand opening,
champagne, hors d'oeuvres, design
er fashions, and door prizes will be
available for guests.

County Eligible For Economic Development Loan Program
Mecklenburg County will compete
with other counties and localities
around the state for Economic De
velopment funds. Projects funded in
Mecklenburg County may not re
ceive more than a total of $750,000.
Mecklenburg County is eligible to
receive an allocation of $750,000 for
the year. Business owners or pro
spective business owners will be
allowed to apply for any amount up
to the $750,000 limit. Fifty-one per
cent of the funds awarded for each
proposal must benefit low to mode
rate income people, and a majority
of the funds must be directed toward
promoting the creation of retention
of full-time Jobs; enhancing income
levels; or providing local ownership
opportunities. Funds should ideally
be expended in a ratio of $15,000 to
one full-time Job, with $5,000 to one
full-time employee being the ave
rage ratio range.
