. There’s been a lot of negative pu
blicity in the newt lately about
sports teams, both professional and
college. While many people really
get into sporting activities, either as
participants or fans, to others,
sports are ho-hum.

students about sports on campus. Do
sports play an important part in
campus Hfe?

“Yes, because they add to campus
life. No, because a lot of athletes are
not getting an education this year.
They only come for one purpose, to
play sports.” ' '

Bom August 14, 1667, Mm. Miller
was a native of Chester, S.C. During
her life in Charlotte, site was a
homemaker and member of Greater
Gethsemane AME Zion Church,
where she wo active in the Good
Samaritans Club and Missionary
Circle No. 3
Though Mrs. Miller suffered long
with cancer, her daughter, Lotheil
Ramseur, recalls that bar mother
admired her doctors 'and always
commented on how pleased she was
with the care she received from
Charlotte Memorial Hospital, the
Nolle Clinic and Charlotte Plastic
Surgery Center, P.A.
Mm. Miller's pleasing personality
win be missed by an who were
fortunate to have known her.
