Robert Hinson Jr. .On loan from Duke Power City Hires New Development Coordinator The City of Charlotte and Duke Power Company jointly announced the appointment of Robert E. Hinson Jr., to the position of Develop ment Coordinator ( for the City. Hinson', 38, senior industrial power representative with Duke Power, will be “loaned” to the City for 18 mQnths to coordinate Citywide economic development programs. “We think it is a good oppor tunity for local government and industry to work closely for the benefit of all citizens,” said FYed Wekt, vice president of Duke Power’s Charlotte Division. “Good economic development for Char lotte is important to all of us. We are happy that some of our people can help with the City's planning,” he 1 said. \ 4 . ■ x > “We are pleased to have Bob Hilton coordinate the City’s econo mic development program under a ‘loaned executive’ contract with Duke Power," said City Manager Wendell White. “Bob has proven his capabilities in dealing with busi nesses throughout the region and brings his experience and talent to local government. A graduate of the .University of North Carolina at Chamotte with a bachelor's degree in engineering analysis and design, Hirtson has been with Duke Power since 1972. For the past nine years, his work with commercial and industrial energy conservation,management systems has won awards for ex cellence in energy management competitions.
