Per forming with the large chorus will be five guest artists and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The part of Elijah, the prophet, will be sung by David Mellnik, baritone, a North Carolina native pre sently studying at Southern Baptist Theological Se • -_U_ minary. Other soloists are: Donna Dease, contralto, a member of the faculty of the school of Music at East Carolina University; New York tenor Robert Heil, who has toured Europe and the United States singing opera and oratorio; soprano Carla Bowers, student of Margaret Hogs well at Manhattan School of Music; and soprano Jan Dickerson, who has per formed leading roles in “Man of La Mancha” and numerous other produc tions Another feature will be the appearance of the Charlotte Youth Oratorio women singing the angel chorus from the mez zanine.
