wiUJW attending a weekend circuit
assembly at the Charlotte Conven
tion Center November SO end De
cember l. Scheduled talks, inter
views, antf demonstrations over the
two days will highlight die theme:
“Doing Our Part in Glorifying God.”
Practical ways to worship God in
this modern world will be presented,
along with the reasons far doing so.
Special attention will be given to
the need for global peace. Conven
tion chairman Robert J. Hurst says
this is appropriate because millions
of people worldwide desire peace.
Laud criee for global pence are now
being sounded by political, social,
religious, and other concerned
groups. There is evidence, how
ever, in the Bible that peace on earth
is assured only through God’s King
dom and is a reality for this genera
tion. Thus, it is not only practical but
also urgent that we now look to God.
The public is especially invited to
bear this subject (Bscussed at the
convention’s .main session Sunday,
December 1, at 2 p.m. featuring the
theme: “GlobalPeace - From What
Source?”

“BECAUSE WE CARE!”
Dr. Lloyd B. Morris, Pastor
There is no denying that Black America needs more doc
tor* but ofttimes there are roadblocks in the path of those
striving to make it to and through medical school Well, in my
travels, I have teamed of a program that may help to overcome
some of the problems. It's the Medical Opportunity for Com
petitive Minority Students.
Medical Opportunity for Competitive Minority Students is a
facetcf the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest
University. This » not a giveaway program. There are some
requirements such as a rmwnum of 90 undergraduate semes
ter hours, with 8 semester hours each in general biology, gen
eral chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics considered as
rmwnum science preparation. Each applicant must take the
Medkal CoBege Admission Tfest that is sponsored by the Asso
ciation of American Medical Colleges. The MCAT is given
twioe a year in the fall and in the spring. Appicants are encour
aged to take the test in the spring so that the test c*i be taken
again in the fafl should an improved score be needed.
Financial aid through tans, or other forms of asaiatanoe, ia
avaHble to students who would not otherwise attend medical
school
