Smith University President Rob ert Albright acknowledged Sun day that the University family should be and Is Indeed proud 6f Its 122 years of service and dedi cation. Joining Albright In the Founders Day Celebration were several local and state politi cians, two former JCSU presi dents, alumni members and Dr. Samuel Proctor, pastor, Abys sinian Baptist Church, New York City. Dr. Proctor was the day's distinguished guest and speaker. President Albright also ac knowledged the soon-to-be May graduates who will make up the Class of 1989. Albright called the students dressed in their caps and gowns, "strong, bright, capable men and women who will go forth to make the world a better place." Remarks were also heard from Tracy Chamblee, student gov ernment association president, Mr» Oble Patterson, JCSU presi dent, General Alumni Associa tion. and Rev. Robert Walton. Gharlotte-Mecklenburg County Commissioner. •Speaking to his fellow stu dents, Chamblee reminded tjiem. "We are Johnson C. Smith University and this university is us."
