Pa£e6A - THE CHARLOTTE POST - Thursdiy, May 18, 1989 EDUCATION TODAV Edwards To Be Navy Grad Dondl Ekiwards, son of Calvin T. Eklwards and Bessie N. Moore, will graduate from the United States Naval Academy on Wed nesday, May 31, Edwards Is a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School. A^Ue at the academy, Eklwards achieved the status of Second Regimental Commander. He was responsible for leading half the brigade of midshipmen. He Is president of the Midshipmen’s Heath Is NCCU Graduate Eric E. Heath, the son of Jessie M. Heath of Charlotte, received a bachelor of business adminis tration degree from North Caro lina Central University. He graduated Cum Laude from the School of Business. Heath entered NCCU as a fresh man In the fall of 1985. Since the spring semester of 1987 he has been on the honor roll and the Dean's list. In 1988, he re ceived the North Carolina Cen tral University Outstanding Ser vice Award. In 1988-89 he was a co-reciplent of the C.S. Ferguson Award for Outstanding Achieve ment In Computer Information Systems. He was also a charter member of the Data Processing Management Association. During his last semester at NCCU, Heath received Job offers from two Fortune 500 compa nies. For two years he served as an honor representative. Edwards Interviewed and was selected to the professional na val career as an officer on nucle ar submarines. In the summer of 1987, he spent a portion of his school break studj^g French at the University of Ecole France Langues In Paris. Governor Jim Martin nomi nated Edwards to the academy four years ago. Edwards and his family eire grateful for the nomi nation and they also express ap preciation to ^1 who have en couraged the young Edwards over the years.
