Anthony Terrell Smith,

stances around the wound.
But he says his gang days are
over.
"The gang will always be a
part of me because they're my
boys and we're still friends,"
he said. "But I've changed
considerably in the last
couple of years. I've done a
lot of growing up."
Much of his new attitude is
due to the birth of his son
three years ago. Loc Is rais
ing the boy as a single par
ent.
"I've been In a lot of llfe-
threatenlng situations, and I
guess I had one close call too
many for someorie trying to
raise a son," he said. "His
birth was like a tap on the
shoulder, and I got the mes
sage. He needed me around
when I'm 40 or 50, and I
wasn't going to live long at
the pace I was going."
Loc says he was thrilled to
be given a role In "Posse," a
Mario Van Peebles-directed
Western In which most of the
main characters are black.
"I'm just like any other kid
who dreamed of seeing him
self on the big screen," he
said. "I'm living a dream
come true."
