The Northeast Seventh- Day Adventist Church will celebrate the official opening of its new church at 827 Tom Hunter Road off the 1-85 ac cess road and off Tryon Street near Auto Bell car wash. The celebration begins this week through May 28 with revival each night at 7, with Moses Edwards, pastor of Asheville and Shelby SDA churches as the speaker. The culmination will be May 29 at 8:15 a.m. and will include a parade, ribbon cutting and gospel concert. The public is invited. •New Emmanuel New Emmanuel Congrega tional UCC Missionaries in vites everyone to its fifth Sunday program on May 30 at 3 p.m. Thelma Ledbetter is president and Clara Lee is vice president. •Temple Baptist The Ambassadors for Christ of Temple Baptist Church invites the public to the Mother/Father's Day Program on May 30 at 4 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. The 45-'tninute service, featuring an infor mal approach with lots of guitar music and guest speakers, will precede Pla za's regular Sunday events, beginning with coffee hour at 9:30 a.m., Sunday School opening at 9:45, Sunday School at 10 and worship at 11. Another change in for mat will be members and guests gathering for an nouncements at 10:50 in the sanctuary, with worship be ginning at 11 a.m. •Open Door Ministries Open Door Ministries will sponsor a three-day appreci ation service for its pastor, Ricky W. Alexander, on the following dates: May 28-29 at 7:30 p.m. and May 30 at 3 p.m. Services will be held at Broomfield CME Church on Shannon-Bradley Road, in Gastonia where the Rev. Bob by Best is pastor. •Shepherd's Fold Summer Day Camp will be held at the Shepherd's Fold Church, 2516 S. Tryon St. C. David Stackhouse is the founding pastor. Camp will be held from June 7-August 20 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wholesome recreation and educational activities will be held dally. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be served also. Registration is on May 29. •St. John Baptist Church The Combined Choir of New St. John Baptist Church will sponsor its Fifth annual workshop on June 3-6 with guest clinicians Sam Obie, minister of music at Chap pell Memorial Baptist Church and Patrick Love, as sociate minister of music at Salem Baptist Church. The schedule for the workshops is as follows: June 3, 4, 6:30- 10 p.m. : June 5, 9 a.m.- noon. Registration fee is $10 for adults and $5 for youth. There will be a fellowship service featuring the youth mass choir, the vocal choirs and several visiting choirs on June 5 at 7 p.m. On June 6 the workshop mass choir will be in concert along with other guest choirs.
