She has also chaired her precinct. No. 60. King was an assertive and aggres sive person. Eaves said. “He liked to eiapower pe^le. That’s one of my goals, to empower people. I think folks can do a whole lot by being empowered,” she said. Eaves worries about whether King’s dream will ever be realized. “There is too much hatred. We just have to continue to try. You see how affirmative action is. Folks don’t care. The Republicans don’t care about the poor. There will be poor folks forever. We have to think about them and worry abmit them. “We have come a long way, but we have got to go a long way. We have got to work with our own people. A lot of us can’t work with each other.
