launches a Health and Wellness
Center in Charlotte. The depart
ment provides health services to
individuals who need non-critical,
non-emergency care. Free work

Man's Fearful Heart
Part 11
As we said in part one,
instead of your heart looking
for the Lord, you are looking
after world conditions. That
is why you are fearful and
dying of heart failure. You
worry day and night about
what is going to happen next
because you are not saved.
Some of you church mem
bers are the most fearful. You
say you are saved, but you
have more fear in your hearts
than the men in government.
We are facing a crisis now,
worldwide, and people are
concerned about Bosnia, but
really all eyes are on the
Middle East.
Government leaders are
afraid Russia is going to inter
vene in Israel because that old
bear is showing her force
again. Russia is going to
invade Israel, according to
Ezekial 38 and 39. But, I'm no
more afraid of that than I am
of a Doodle Bug in the sand
that I cannot see. Why?
Because God is going to deal
with Russia and destroy her
Himself Mr. Administrator,
it’s your loss for not taking
God at His Word, you are the
loser, not God. The world
today is ruled by unsaved
men. That's why we are in
the mess we are in. Just
think, what kind of world
would we have if all of city,
state and federal officials were
saved? If you could walk
through the hall of govern
ment and each government
official you talked to was
praising the Lord for saving
such a sinner as we are, what
a different country we'd have
to live in. That's right. That
is coming one day. When the
Lord Jesus comes back to
reign on earth for a thousand
years, we'll have it like that.
Call me crazy if you want to,
but every officer in the gov
ernment will be saved. Every
mayor, councilman, governor,
senator, conwessman, cabinet
member and every president
and prime minister will be
saved. All praising the Lord
for redeeming them. That will
be a glorious time in the Lord.
But today we live in a world
where men are dying of heart
failure because you won't bow
now to Christ as your Lord
Pastor rises to lead
and your Savior. In salvation,
God gave man a new heart
(Ezekial 36:26). Not a heart of
fear such as the unsaved
have, but a heart of love for
Christ, supremely.
Then there flows out from
the new heart a general love
for all mankind. But now you
are fearful of world conditions
because you don't have a new
heart, which only comes from
God. Let me say this: by
nature, no sinner can hunger
after the Lord, by nature you
can't desire holy things. Did
you get that? 'Your nature is
of the Devil, all it can do is
hate. The whole world is grap
pling with this sin of hatred.
Youll never solve it because
you will not have the Man,
Christ Jesus, to rule over you.

"I think too many times we
have the church as one high
standard, and many times we
get caught up in people who
have high morals and high
standards rather than dealing
with the folk who the word is
really for — the downtrodden
and the outcasts.
"Churches are geared too
much toward educational sta
tus many times. "We push
those folks in economics. Folk
who have the money, those
are the people we want.
“My motto is ‘little folk will
make you big.’ Big folk are
already where they want to
be."
Carlton, who began preach
ing in 1975, served as assis
tant pastor at Mt. Pilgrim
Baptist Church. In 1977, he
moved to Winston-Salem,
where he served as an associ
ate pastor of St. Stephens
Baptist Church for about
seven years. He then served
as pastor of the New Smith
Grove Baptist Church in
Lexington, N.C. for 10 years.
In 1994, Carlton accepted the
call to lead Second Calvary
Baptist.
