If the family does not attend this session, there will be no baptism. The session will be conducted by the pas tor or his'hcr designee. Information regarding pre- baptismal procedures, the rit ual of baptism, proper bap tismal attire, and any related fees will be discussed at this session. Once the class is completed, the following ministries are notified: 1) The administrator notifies the church bulletin of the event. It is to be in at least one week before the ceremony. 2) The Sacristan prepares the baptismal area. 3) The nursing ministry pro vides towels, swim caps and robes for the candidates, 4) The music ministry pro vides appropriate music for baptismal. 5) The ministers of hospitali ty are notified of the names of candidates. Arrangements are made for appropriate seating. 6) The security ministry maintains a secure environ ment where baptisms take place. 7) The liturgical coordinator prepares the oils and makes sure that the materials are prepared. 8) The liturgical coordinator ensures that the baptism goes according to the procedure. Parents will have to sign a form authorizing baptism by immersion and a liability release form. The authoriza tion form includes a section that deals with the medical condition of the child. The same procedures apply to baptism by pouring, where the forehead of the candidate is washed in water.
