14A RELIGION/The Charlotte Post Thursday, January 16,1997 The Prophet’s Column This Is a paid advertisement by J. M. Little MY DEAR FRIENDS, As we have closed another year, my heart is heavy because the multitudes of you are not saved. And many of you have no desire for the Lord Jesus Christ. The greatest thing in aU this universe is just to know Christ as your Lord and your Saviour. I can give you some thing that may last for a while, but my Lord can give you something that will last you for all eternity, the REVEALED CHRIST (Matt. 16:17). Salvation is Christ REVEALED to your heart. I urge all you sinners, don’t stop short of Christ. But my heart bleeds as I see our elder ly people coming down to the end of life and you are not looking to go home to be with the Lord. Our elderly people are trying to hold to the mate rial things of this life. There is no salvation in the material things of this life! Oh, how sad! When you were a little child you made a reh- gious profession, but here you are coming down to the end of life and you have no founda tion to rest your poor soul on. What a tragedy! How many times since God saved me have I thanked the Lord for redeeming me with His own precious Blood, delivering me out of the “empty religious” profession handed down to me from my late preacher grand father and father. All they had to offer me was an “empty religious” profession. For nearly twenty-five years, since God saved me. I’ve been point ing sinners to Christ as their only salvation. Christ, and Christ alone, is salvation. I have not failed to point you to Christ. But so many are sleep ing their souls to hell under the truth! You will not always remain where you are. For you to trifle with precious con victions is most dangerous. You grieve the blessed Holy Spirit by trifling with His impressions. Wake up, sinner! This Is a paid advertisement by J. M. Little MY DEAR FRIENDS: We have now passed the close of another year and my heart is heavy because the multitudes of you are still not saved. And many of you have no desire for the Lord Jesus Christ. The greatest thing in aU this uni verse is just to know Christ as your Lord and your Saviour. I can give you something that may last you for a while, but my Lord can give you something that will last you for all eternity, the REVEALED CHRlST(Matt. 16:17). Salvation is Christ REVEALED to your heart. My heart bleeds as I see our elder ly people coming down to the end of life and not looking to go home and be with the Lord. Our elderly people are trying to hold on to the material things of this life, but there is no salvation in the material things of this life. Oh, how sad! Maybe, when you were a little child you made a reli gious profession, but here you are coming down to the end of life and you have no founda tion to rest your poor soul on. What a tragedy! For almost twenty-five years, since God saved me, I have been pointing sinners to Christ as their only salvation. Christ, and Christ alone, is Salvation. I have not failed to point you to Christ. But so many are sleeping their souls to Hell under the truth. You will not always remain where you are. For you to trifle with precious convictions is most dangerous because you grieve the blessed Holy Spirit by tri fling with His impressions. Wake up, sinner! I wish I could shake you sinners out of the death sleep you are in. You don’t see any danger, but you are under the wrath of a sin-avenging God. You are condemned to die, and die you shall and meet the Lord, but not in mercy. There is mercy now for you if you turn to Him. Remember, you cannot hold to the world with one hand and to Christ with the other. You must come out from among them (H Cor. 6:17) and God will receive (save) you. 'There has to come a complete separation. I’ve done every thing I know to get some of you interested in knowing the Lord, but each day you are blinded more and more. If the goodness of God will not melt your stony heart, I don’t know what will. May it be that the Lord will have mercy on some elderly person here in the evening time of life and save them before they go out into eternity. It means something to be saved, my friends. Oh, if only you knew my Lord! Flag flap escalates THE ASSOCIATED PRESS CLEMSON, S.C. - The state’s largest black Baptist organiza tion has endorsed removing the Confederate battle flag from atop the Statehouse. More than 700 ministers rep resenting 400,000 members of the Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina adopted the resolution Tuesday. Convention President Willie Givens said the endorsement doesn’t necessarily mean the group supports Gov. David Beasley’s proposal. Beasley wants to move the flag to a Confederate monument on the Capitol groimds. The statement the black Baptists endorsed, written by the South Carolina Christian Action Council, says the flag should be moved “to a more appropriate location.” It also says the religious lead ers aim to “represent the voices of respect, honor, reconcihation and healing.” The deadline for Church News is 5 p.m. Mondays.
