She is a member of Saint Paul
Baptist Church where she is a mem
ber of the mass choir, a deaconess,
and a parent volunteer for the chil
dren's choir. She works on a hous
ing committee which operates under
the organization H.E.L.P., helping to
empower local people. She has

minor in African-American Studies
from N.C. State University. She also
had a great learning experience for
six weeks in Togo, West Africa of stu
dying the trans-atlantic slave trade.

Prior to leaving Philadelphia,
with her optometric studies serious
ly embedded, she was rewarded with
