Barber-

a small fami

enrollment of 543 students,
according to the National
Center for Education
Statistics and the Carnegie
Foundation.
Cooks said he isn’t worried
about changes at Barber-

keeps its accreditation.
“As long as we’re still

McKoy, things aren’t fine.
She’s planning to transfer to
North Carolina A&T State
University in Greensboro at
semester’s end.
“I’m worried about what’s
going on here,” she said. “No
one told us why (Potts and
Erwin resigned). I feel like
we need to know a lot more.”
With all the turmoil going
on, McKoy she doesn’t feel as
if she is getting her money’s

“I was going to leave any
way,” she said. “It’s just not
worth it.”
Potts, who had served as
Barber-Scotia’s president
since 1996, was the school’s
14th president, according to
a release from the school.
After nine years "as an
administrator at Barber-
Scotia, Potts left in 1988 to
serve as interim president of
Mary Holmes College in
West Point, Miss., where he
was named .president in
1989. He held that position
until he returned to Concord.
Neither Potts nor Erwin
could be reached for com
