5B RELIGION/tCte dwrlotte $ot Thursday, March 11,2004 Ministry to world’s feet Continued from page 10B “Samaritan’s Feet is dedi cated to taking a message of hope to hurting people. The 5K Life Walk is just one more way that we demonstrate the love of God by touching peo ple’s hearts while meeting their physical needs,” he said. “Our vision extends to host ing other Life Walks and races in major cities across the country. We intend to continue to create awareness of the need to equip impover ished children with shoes in Afnca, Asia, South America, Eastern Europe, The United States and other parts of the world.” Ohonme says the unique aspect of the ministry is the ease for families to get , involved. ‘We actually just awarded our Samaritan’s Service Achievement Award to Melis sa Brashear, an 11-year-old fifth-grader from Cox Ele mentary in Concord,” he said. “She came to one of our con certs at Concord Mills last January in partnership with New Life 91.9 and she took it upon herself to kick-off a shoe drive. She raised more than 65 brand new pairs of shoes with $65 as a way to touch children in Afnca. She got shoes as far as Chicago, Maryland, New York. She got all her family members involved. That’s what it means to be a Samaritan. To love someone you may never met or touch, but with the gift of a shoe, you get the chance to touch their heart with the message of Christ. Mehssa is om Samaritan of the Month for the month of March.” Here are some ways Ohonme says the public can help Samaritan’s Feet. 1) Register, walk and help raise pledges. 2) Get groups from your church, schools, civic or play group, and family to volunteer to as communi ty outreach project help get shoes ready for ship ping at our distribution center. We prefer new or gently used athletic shoes. 3) Get involved financial ly - contribute money to help purchase and ship shoes 4) We are looking for a large long-term storage/warehouse facili ty to run our operation in accommodating our pro jected growth. 5) Looking for moving trucks to ease the opera tional pain of collecting and distributing shoes across our network 6) Pray and consider going with us on an upcoming Shoe Relief Mission Overseas. I believe I heard our Bible teacher down home (Bro. Murdock) say awhile back that someone said to him; "you think everybody has to be saved just like you were saved." I wish I had been there, I would have responded like this; "yes, every sinner is going to be saved just like I was saved, or bust hell wide open!" Let me tell you un saved religionists something. My Heavenly Father has only one way of saving a poor, lost, hell-deserving sinner, get it now; "Christ revealed to the sinner's heart!" You unsaved religionists don't scare God's servants by that statement. If Christ is never revealed to your heart, you'il bust hell wide open! Mow, you put that in your cigarette and smoke it. That is how I was saved, how my late pastor was saved, how the Apostle Paul was saved, how Job was saved, how Abraham was saved, and how Adam was saved. God has only one way of saving a lost sinner. If the Holy Spirit ever opens your heart you'll see that great truth. The election hath obtained it and the rest were blinded. You can't see that Salvation comes to the lost sinner's heart by revelation because you are blinded. I have had folks challenge me this way; "you talk like you are the only one saved, there are folks saved in all churches," and, "I'm just as saved as Bro. Little." Hold your seats now. If you are saved and you know Christ as your Redeemer and your Sacrifice, why can't you and I sit and talk about the Sacrifice and how He found us when we were lost in our religious rags and saved us by His Blood? No, you just go around criticizing me by saying I think I am the oniy one saved. May my Blessed Lord open your heart, and if He does not open your heart under grace you'll bust heii wide open.
