There was no evidence of theft or attempts to enter the building. “This is the first time any thing like this ever hap pened,” said Marchyrel Strickland, a member of the church for 46 years. “Years ago there were some break- ins —an altar, Bible and the PA system were stolen—but nothing in recent years, and nothing likp this.” The graffiti on the door and back wall of the church was discovered by Strickland’s brother Hershcel when he arrived Sunday morning to clean up before services. It was painted over after services. The Rev. Mary Baker Hen dricks, the church’s pastor, said the church has received an outpouring of support fiom the community “Some people still feel racial prejudice, but to voice it likp! this on a house of God is offensive to everyone,” she said. “The support lets me know we live in a city that does not condone racial slurs like this.” ADVERTISEMENT PHOTO/WADE NASH Inspirational author LaTonya Mason, leads a discussion about her debut novel, “Good to Me" at Real Eyes Bookstore In NoDa. That is alright. I’m just glad that the Lord saved me. Go on making fun all you want to. I praise God He elected me in Christ before the foundation of the world. What grace just to know Him! I want to quote a scripture that is very precious to my heart: “THEREFORE being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' (Rom. 5:1) God justified me by faith of the Son of God. One of the first results of justification is peace with God. The pit of noise was gone when God justified me. How is it with you? Some of my family members have accused me this way; “You think nobody is righteous but you!” Well, the Lord washed me in His blood, cleansing me from all my sins. Wouldn’t you rather be washed in the Blood of Christ than going around here saying “I accepted Jesus as my Saviour"? If you knew Christ you would. I’m going to leave you with these eternal matters, my friends. Dear souls, see to it that your souls are saved! You are a creature of eternity! Your Gospel Editor and Teacher, J.M.
