Top Seniors Selection Process
The Charlotte Post staff and Top Seniors Selection Committee would like
to thank each school and senior for participating in this year's Top Seniors
contest.
Narrowing the field to a Senior of the Year and Rurmer-up was a difficult
task yet again. The panel arrives at its decision using a 20-point system. Each
candidate receives points for their weighted grade point average (GPA), class
rank, extracurricular activities, school and community activities, and an essay.
This publication also showcases top seniors who score below the senior of the
year and runner-up. Those are our Seniors of Merit, who have a minimum
GPA of 3.25. This way, all academic achievers are recognized in the publica
tion.
For rising seniors and their parents, the 2007 Top Seniors program kicks off in
January. Contact your school officials for this information.
