THE LIBRARY CON TINUES TO GROW Although the Chowan College Li brary Club is growing daily it has not grown as fast is it was hoped that it would. It is the gift of one book a month to the library for one year only. PICNIC FOLLOWS LOSS OF HALF THE WEEKLY HOLIDAY STILL THEY COME Last Monday afternoon at four o’clock, the girls and faculty of Chowan College met on the front steps and left for the river and a good time. The entertainment committee suggested games and all took part in old fashioned “London Bridge”, “Lemonack”, and “Dropping the Handkerchief” while the Mandolin Club furnished spirited college music. Weinies, tomato sandwiches, roast ed corn, marshmallows and hot cof fee were cooked and served. During the afternoon some of the citizens of Murfreesboro took all the girls for a ride down the river in a gasoline launch. The picnic followed regular class work Monday afternoon, served ad mirably to compensate for the loss of half the weekly holiday whicl> was oc casioned by giving Thursday after noon off in order that faculty and student body might attend the Roan- oke-Chowan Fair in Woodland.
