This announcement was made by the College Administration recently. According to the an nouncement this does not re flect the true growth of the College’s enrollment, since there are additional students studying in extension classes, evening classes, creative writing, and special students taking special courses or taking less than the minimun load required for re gular student status. In 1943 the College was closed by its Board of Trustees, when it reopened again in 1949 only 87 students graced the old "Columns Building.” The enroll ment increased to 136 in 1950, but due to financial difficulties a decline in enrollment saw only 82 students in 1951. After 1951 the enrollment of the college began its steady upswing to its present figure of 1,137 students. Growth has rang ed from a minus one between 1954 and 1955 and a plus 251 between last year and this. Los Angeles — The planet Jupiter completes its journey around the sun every 12 years. SECRETARIES ON COKE BREAK (All married boys!)—There are not only attractive coeds at Chowan, but gorgeous secretaries, such as these three taking a Coke break in the School of Graphic Arts. They are just too tempting for the photographer, so here you see, at left, Mrs. Sandra Davis, secretary to the Director of Admissions; Mrs. Sylvia Conrad, secretary to the Presi dent of the College; and Mrs. Jean Barnes, secretary to Director of Development.
