CHRISTMAS MESSAGE to all of the CHOWAN COLLEGE FAMILY Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni and Friends The warm glow of Christmas is now being felt across the campus at Chowan touching all who live and work here, reminding young and old that there are truths and values which transcend the concrete and the common place. This glow is magnified by shared experiences which somehow bring us closer together in thanksgiving, in joy, and in hope. For many of us there is a growing awareness that the Chowan College Family embraces countless persons in diverse places across our nation and our world, all tied by a common shared experience which is the life, the work, the mission and spirit of Chowan College. To this family, I extend a heartfelt desire that they all experience in this season, a full measure of joy and happiness with health and strength. We cannot together truly experience Christmas without thanksgiving to our Creator who has given us truth, light, and life through His Son, Jesus Christ. Thanksgiving can best t)e expressed through service to our fellow man and one of the greatest services is the enrichment of the lives of young men and women through Christian Higher Education. Chowan has been an instrument of thanksgiving through service for more than 123 years, and we rejoice in the hope that its service will expand this year and in years to come. We have much to be thankful for. Yet, there is much service to do. The entire Chowan College Family has my sincere best wishes for a bright and merry Christmas and a full and prosperous New Year.
