Miss Gennene Dikeman Miss Dikeman, the daughter of Di'. and Mrs. Theron L. Dikeman of P’alls Church, Va., is enrolled in the secretarial courses at CJiowan College, She is five feet, five inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, has light brown hair, blue eyes and dimensions of 35-24- :i5. In high school, she was a member of the choir. Pep Club, Office Education Club, and a cheerleader. She was also president of her church youth gi'oup. She likes singing, sewing and modeling. At one time, her father had a band, “the Ambassadors,” and she was their vocalist. One of her biggest thrills, she reports is when she accompanied the group to Germany where they toured U. S. Army and Air Force bases and sang on the American Forces Network Radio Show. Her talent in the pageant will be singing. Miss Eden Eure PAGE TWELVE Eight Girls Compete 'Miss Ahoskie' Pageant Popular With Students Miss Julie Harrell Miss Harrell is a lovely five- foot, six-inch brunette with brown hair and eyes. Her 115 pounds is distributed into a 35-24-35 inch fi’ame. She is 18-years-old and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Harrell. The audience will be delighted to hear sing a song from "Camelot" but like the others this is by no means her only talent. She has had 10 years of piano and four years of Choral music. During her high school days, she was a member of the touring religious rock musical, “Tell It Like It Is.” Last summer the gi oup visited several towns in the area where they presented the musical in churches and on television. Other activities in school in cluded choral music for four years, membership in the Future Business Leaders of America, Library Club, Monogram Club, Pep Club and she served as a cheerleader in her junior and senior year. She has served as president, vice president, secretary and ti easurer of the youth fellowship group of her church. Miss Eden Eure This five foot tall, 19-year-old beauty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Russell Eure, Sr., and weighs 105 pounds. Her measurements are 34-22-35 and she has brown hair and eyes. She will sing for her talent in the pageant but is equally talented in other areas — having studied piano for seven years and dancing for one year. Following her graduation from Chowan, Miss Eure plans to further her education at the Medical College of Virginia to become a nurse. B I H Miss Pamela Carroll A 19-year-old sophomore, this brown-eyed, brown-haired beauty is the tallest in com petition thus far. She is five feet, nine inches tall and weighs in at 120 pounds with measurements of 35-25-35. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Jeter of Moseley, Va., and when her high school had a talent show, she walked away as a first place winner and in 1970 was on the Miller-Rhodes Teen Board. After graduation from Chowan, she plans to further her education at Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, where she will major in elementary music education. Miss Carol Bowen Miss Carol Bowen is a five foot, seven inch, brown haired sophomore and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Bowen of Chesapeake, Va. She weighs in at 120 pounds which is distributed into a 36-24-36 frame, Carol, who has had special training in dramatics and voice, will give a dramatic monologue. At Chowan she has been a cheerleader and treasurer of the freshman class. After graduation, she plans to attend Atlantic Christian College and pursue her studies in elementary education. Miss Linda Thompson Miss Thompson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Thompson of Norfolk, Va. She is five feet, six inches tall, and has brown eyes and brown hair. She has had six years of ballet, singing, piano and dramatic lessons. At one time she was a member of the New Generation Singers group. After graduation from Chowan, she plans to attend Meredith College and continue her musical education. Miss Debbie Coleman This 120-pound beauty has dark brown hair, blue-green eyes and will almost match Miss Carroll in height — she is five feet, seven inches tall. Her measurements are 35-24-37. Her talent in the pageant will be singing, however, this is not her only accomplishment. She has studied piano and dancing two years and dramatics one year. She has a great interest in drama and has performed in plays from grammar grades through high school. Her plans are to attend Old Dominion University or Ap palachian State after graduation from Chowan, where she is a freshman. Her special interst is in the field of education. Miss Donna Pullen A 19-year-old sophomore in the nursing program, Miss Pullen also weighs in at 120 pounds. She is five feet tall and her measurements are 36-24-36. She has blue eyes and auburn hair, and is the daughter of Cmdr. and Mrs. Boyd M. Pullen of Norfolk, Va. With eight years of ballet behind her, she intends to put this talent on display at the pageant. This is not her only ac complishment. Gymnastics came in for two years of study and piano, four years—all this in high school. At Chowan, she is a member of the Baptist Student Union, Phi Theta Kappa, Circle K Club, English Club and has been selected to appear in “Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges.” Miss Carol Bowen Miss Linda Thompson The Chowanian
