Christmas Concert Presented Think you’ve got a large gift list? Consider the one belonging to the Chowan College Concert Choir. It’s as large as there are children in the Murfreesboro- Ahoskie area, and that’s a lot of freckles and pigtails, according to the choir’s director, Jefferson Ishee. The choir has solved its problem by designing the same gift for each child—a program of Christmas music. The concert was presented Monday, December 4, at Roberts Village Center in mid-town Mur- freestx)ro. It was planned for the enjoyment of the entire family and particularly the children, Ishee explained. Presented Outdoors The concert was presented outdoors at the historic Roberts site. Ishee stressed that the pro^am was mostly familiar Christmas carols. “We were particularly eager for parents to bring their children, small children especially. Christinas holds a special magic for all of us, but to the childroi it is perhaps the most wonderful time of all. Music is such a wonderful part of the season that we cannot think of a better way to start the holiday season than an evening of beloved Christmas music,” Ishee commented. Joining the Chowan choir was the Ridgecroft School Chorus under the direction of Betty M. Ishee. The program included “As Lately We Watched,” “First Noel,” "The Holly and the Ivy,” “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” “Carols of the Bells,” and “The Little Drummer Boy.” The concert closed with a “special arrangement of Silent Night which was sung by both choirs accompanied by four guitars.” The concert preceded an ap pearance of the choir at Tarrytown Mall in Rocky Mount Tliursday, December 7 at the “singing Christmas Tree.” BIRTH ANNOUNCED M. et Mme.
