Parade Highlights The 1973 Homecoming Porade has been called the "best ever," as the scenes on these pages indicate. 1) Ethel Askew, right, and Cheryl Hawkins carry one of the many state flags which were featured in the annual affair to point out that Chowan's students come from many states and foreign countries. 2) The Mixon Hall float. 3) Miss Debbie Custalow, a member of the Homecoming Court and a contestant for Queen, rides in a convertible for the trip through town. Other members of the court were also featured in open-top automobiles. 4) High-spirited horses, goyly decorated and with colorful riders ore always a highlight to Chowan's "big day." 5) Many an tique automobiles from neighboring Tidewater Virginia followed the parade route to afford alumni and friends a chance to think of days gone by. u I / i'- .‘w ^ ■ ;■ V • ' '/ 'v ’ -■ j ; .
