Leadership Group for Campaign
Among those providing leadership as Chowan seeks the final $400,000 to com
plete its campaign to construct a fully equipped $2.5 million gymnasium-physical

Gift Presented by Class of 1929
The Chowan College Class of 1929 has presented the college with a silver urn
to hold flower arrongements in the main lobby of McDowell Columns. The
class celebrated its 50th anniversory during Spring Festival in April. The urn
was presented on behalf of the Class of 1929 by three of its members, from
left; Miss Mary Whitley, Mrs. Elizabeth Parker, and Mrs. Ruby Udvarnoki, all of
Murfreesboro. The urn is located beneath the portrait of Archibald McDowell,
Chowan's first president who served from 1848-49 ond 1862-1881.
